Being A Girl (2)

Believe it or not, she is 'Paraya Dhan'

"If daughters go rebel it's not without a cause. Chase and hunt the cause, not her"

We proudly proclaim her as Daddy's Angel but the brutal truth is that she is enslaved under the shade of 'Paraya Dhan'. An ongoing vicious cycle that defines her real home is with her in-laws and she is just a welcomed guest at the home where she took her first steps.

She is merely a cattle fed with needed fodder till her marriage and then sent to her in-laws. From the age of three, she is assured that this is her paradise and will always remain but the moment she touches her mid 20's, the myth is busted and she's told that her home is where her husband resides.

While raising their little angel, parents want her to be the best in her career, bank balance, family, society, status, and other societal norms. Her eyes gleam with joy when she sees her parents wishing the best for her but unfortunately, her gala ride takes a drift when she is denied from following her will.

I must say hypocrisy is at its peak when dealt with daughters in varied genres of life. We teach our daughters to voice their rights in the profession but at the same time, her right to speech and expression is snatched within the four confined walls of her home. She is demanded to remain shut because she is a girl, so she ought to keep her eyes down and mouth shut when confronted with cuss words.

She is none, but a mere human who is born to bear all the shit thrown at her. She can't yell, talk, or cry because if she does she will be labeled as 'Dramebaaz' or 'Nautanki'.

Sacrificing at Every Step

Just like you and me, she too has dreams, wishes, wants, and worldly desires but her vagina puts a hold on those independent happy wings.

Daughter: Mother, I want to get a tattoo done on my hand.

Mother: You can get it done after marriage if your husband allows.

Daughter: Maa, I wish to go on a trip to the hills with my buddies.

Mother: You can go to the hills with your husband on a honeymoon.

Daughter: Mummy I don't want to get married, I want to live my life on my terms.

Mother: Have you gone nuts! You ought to marry, that's how society goes about. If you don't marry, people will cook stories about you. And, don't you dare to be a blot on us.

Husband, a man whom she isn't aware of at the age of 18 is making her the assassin of her desires.

Mothers, please do understand and remember, not every husband turns out to be Obama some turn out to be a peculiar specimen like Trump.
